Biography

Alex Bogomolov is a Vancouver-based independent film producer who runs every film like its own company. Before the money moves, the economics are on the table: market-aware development, recognizable casting, clear recoupment logic, and investors who know exactly how they get paid back.

That discipline comes from a decade in business before film. He founded a tech startup, ran a 350-person transport company, and built a construction firm, backed by two university degrees in business and finance.

He produced Ruthless Bastards (2025), an action film starring Casper Van Dien, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Parmish Verma, which released across 40+ countries with US rights pre-sold and investors fully recouped. He followed it with the horror-thriller Pitfall (2026), starring Randy Couture, Richard Harmon, and Alexandra Essoe, sold by Voltage Pictures and released theatrically in the United States through AMC Theatres after festival runs at Screamfest LA and Panic Fest. His next film, the folk-horror Lookout, is in development, shooting 2027, with an Oscar-nominated lead attached. His studio, Apsis Pictures, has a four-film elevated genre program in development, with Lookout as film #1.

He is also the founder of CineMeta, a financing platform that connects independent films directly to their audience. The through-line across all of it: films built with the discipline of a business, made to last longer than their opening weekend.
