Why this film
One location, a small cast, and a fire tower with nowhere to run. The horror here is built from weather, silence and a marriage, not from set pieces. That is a deliberate production choice as much as a creative one: a contained story puts the money on screen where an audience actually feels it: the performance.
Lookout is film #1 of the four-film program, and the first one written and cast for a festival run rather than a volume sale. That changes what the film has to be: tighter on the page, slower to greenlight, and built around a lead who has to carry long stretches alone.
