Biography
Alex Bogomolov is a Vancouver-based film producer with a business background. Before film, he founded a tech startup, owned and managed a transport company with 350 staff, and ran a construction business focused on B2B negotiations. He holds two masters in Business Administration and Finance.
After moving to Canada and exiting his businesses, he turned to film, driven by the urge to create work that lasts, not just operate something that earns. That business discipline shapes how he produces: each film runs like its own small company, with transparent investor economics, recoupment waterfalls disclosed before the wire, and cash-flow reports after delivery. His approach asks four questions before pre-production: who the film is for, how they hear about it, what the recoupment path is, and what could kill it.
His produced features include Ruthless Bastards (2025), with Casper Van Dien, Sean Patrick Flanery, and Parmish Verma - sold to 40+ countries; and Pitfall (2026), with Randy Couture, Richard Harmon, and Alexandra Essoe - AMC theatrical via Voltage Pictures, Screamfest LA and Panic Fest selections. His next feature, Lookout - a folk-horror set at a remote BC wildfire lookout - is in pre-production for a summer 2026 shoot, targeting Sundance with an Oscar-nominated cast attached.
He is co-founder of Dragon Bear Pictures and founder of CineMeta, a platform connecting indie film financing to audiences via watch-to-earn economics on Base. He also publishes The Producer's Desk, an essay series on indie film economics, financing mechanics, and the parts of the business most investors don't see.
